4th of July

Well this summer has been flying by! With all the vacations we have taken so far and our baby growing up too fast I can't tell you how fast my head is spinning. By the time our four day 4th of July weekend came around I was ready to cancel everything for the entire summer and just stay home in our bed with our baby until fall.

SO GLAD WE DIDN'T!

This holiday weekend turned out to be our absolute favorite thus far! We were with baby Kelti threw the entire weekend, witnessing so many "firsts". All started with an awesome back yard BBQ for a darling little 7 year old on the evening of the 3rd. Took the pack n' play and a lunch box full of toys and Kelti had a hay day and mommy and daddy got to relax and enjoy the evening, the company and our little bumblebee all at the same time. (<3) She even fell asleep all by herself!

What a blast and this was just the beginning. The next day was the 4th OF JULY! After our morning of snuggling daddy got up and got to work in the garage and mommy and Kelti took a nap til 10am! We then got up and played dress up, went to the grocery store and did some long belated laundry.

Next was our drive to the mountains for an awesome prime rib dinner. Great friends, awesome food and unbelievable scenery. Not to mention watching the fire works from atop a mountain!

Home we went! Next morning (which did I mention is only Friday!) it sort of started out the same as the day before with the snuggles and naps but daddy joined in as well. Then it was a busy bee type of morning, with cleaning the boat, cleaning the house and packing for a two day trip to the lake! I must still be new at this obviously, but packing for a two day trip with a baby feels like packing for a two week trip! All of the "just in case" items add up fast!

We were on the road as a family, with the boat in tow by late afternoon and headed up to a local lake about 40 miles from home. We were truly blessed to be invited on a trip with our dear friends and their family.

Well, what a blessing indeed! We camped, boated, sang, ate amazing homemade meals, and had the love of true company and the divine pleasure of sharing the experience with our little one. We really came to realize that this is the weekends that we can't stand to see end..... Until next time. :)
